003: SQUIGGLE ROCKER

Build

  • Multi layered BC flute diecut and glued together

  • Glue (classic elmer’s style glue) : Polyvinyl acetate, Polyvinyl alcohol, and Propylene glycol

What Worked:.

  • Damn strong!

  • Got an efficient cut pattern down that allowed for nesting efficiency with other products (stool) and easy take apart off diecutter.

  • Whole item is recyclable with paper stream.

What Could be Improved:

  • Set up some sort of jig for construction, piece sagged and titled under weight when drying.

  • Need packaging! Some sort of reveal for kiddos. A palpable hesitance when asking a kiddos to check out a strange object just sitting in plain sight.

  • Is there a cleaner glue?

  • Needs handholds, perhaps some of bar that rises up in the middle. Allows kiddos to push and rock forward and back.

  • Think about some sort of stopper, especially if adding more curve to bottom.

  • Not the most comfortable thing, feels good with tufted rug layed down on seats, but maybe think about something that’s still paper (woven paper ribbon?)
